Students in professor Allison de Fren’s class, ArtM260, Exploring Virtual Reality, transform the AGC and Johnson-Fowler Hall area and the Gilman Fountain through projection mapping on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014. Sometimes called spatial augmented reality, projection mapping is a technique for turning objects and buildings into display surfaces for video projection. Ambient music by KOXY. The event was the culmination of a projection mapping assignment for ArtM260, which is a new course developed through the faculty fellowship program with the CDLA (Center for Digital Liberal Arts) with assistance from Mellon postdoctoral fellow Patty Ahn.
