Occidental College professor Mary Beth Heffernan’s first batch of portraits of a group of ELWA II ETU (Ebola treatment unit) health care workers taken in Monrovia, Liberia on Thurs., Feb. 24, 2015. The photos are made on adhesive backed paper and will be affixed to the worker’s PPE (personal protective equipment) when they care for Ebola patients. Multiple prints of each person will ultimately be given to as many health care workers as possible at the faciltiy;

Professor Heffernan was there to work on her PPE (personal protective equipment) Portrait Project, which helps health care workers and patients fighting the Ebola virus disease in West Africa.
