"Owning the Power You Possess to Make Change" a talk with Wendy Davis, in Choi Auditorium on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019. A reception followed in the McKinnon Global Forum.<br />
Wendy Davis is a lawyer, a former Texas state senator, 2014 Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate (with two Oxy students participating in her gubernatorial campaign as part of Campaign Semester), public speaker and author. Davis represented District 10 in the Texas Senate from 2009 to 2015, served on the Fort Worth City Council and now resides in Austin leading her nonprofit, Deeds Not Words, a nonprofit that seeks to empower and activate the voices of young women in public and political discourse.<br />
