The ELWA ETU was the first to open in Monrovia, Liberia’s capital, and has not had one health care worker in the ETU contract Ebola while they were working.<br />

Professor Heffernan was there to work on her PPE (personal protective equipment) Portrait Project, which helps health care workers and patients fighting the Ebola virus disease in West Africa.<br />
